When: Saturday, Aug. 17, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Noon
Short Description: This bring-your-own-camera photography seminar will introduce beginners to the basics of digital photography and composition.

- Welcome
- How a Camera Works
- Overview of: the Camera Body, Mode Dial, and Display Screen
- Understanding: Shutter Speed, Aperture, and ISO
- Beginner Tips for Composition and Lighting
- Visual Scavenger Hunt: Applying What We’ve Learned (with a chance to win a prize!)
Class Notes:
- Participants are asked to bring their own DSLR or mirrorless camera. Loaner cameras are not available.
- Mobile/Cell Phone Photographers are also welcome to join, though DSLR-focused curriculum may not be applicable/relevant to your device.
- This class is intended for beginners or intermediate skill levels or those looking to connect with the local photography community – curriculum will not cover advanced topics.
- Attendees are encouraged, but not required, to participate in our Visual Scavenger Hunt.
- You agree to a photography waiver that allows your likeness to be used in advertisements for Muse Mind Studios and/or the Museum Center at 5ive Points.

Xavier Jasso is a multi-international award-winning writer, director, photographer, and corporate communications leader. In addition to serving as the Creative Director for Muse Mind Studios in Cleveland, TN, Xavier serves as the Global Advocacy Lead for Ford Motor Company and Hill+Knowlton Strategies, reporting to Ford World Headquarters in Detroit, Michigan, and the H+K office in Washington, D.C.
Xavier holds a Masters degree in English Literature with a focus in Psychoanalysis. In July 2022, Xavier was inducted into the Marquis Who’s Who in America registry of Entrepreneurs, Business Owners and Professionals.
Xavier manages Muse Mind Studios and their Micro-Event Venue “The Opera House at Craigmiles Hall” alongside his wife (and highschool sweetheart!) Hollie Jasso. Xavier and Hollie are both natives of Cleveland, TN, and alumni of Lee University.
Muse Mind Studios LLC offers event, aerial, commercial & personal videography, photography, & and other creative services in the greater Chattanooga area and beyond. The company also hosts micro-events and weddings in their multi-use venue space, “The Opera House at Craigmiles Hall.”
